Funding

The Indian River County Volunteer Ambulance Squad is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation. IRCVAS does not receive any local, state, or Federal support for operational expenses. Our funding derives from private donations, grants, bequests and endowments. A fund raising appeal letter is mailed each year, requesting support for our daily operations and other financial needs.

How IRCVAS Uses Donations

Through the generosity of individuals, corporations and foundations, IRCVAS is able to pay the costs of providing transportation services, as well as purchasing and maintaining our fleet of 11 vehicles. On an annual basis, volunteers provide approximately 8,000 free trips, logging over 100,000 miles, and pumping 4,800 gallons of gasoline. 100% of every dollar we spend benefits the Indian River County residents we serve.
